Being Strong

Sometimes being strong means taking a stand for what you believe in- even at the expense of something dear to you. Sometimes it means silently enduring persecution and pain. I am thankful for a man who has proven he is able, by God's grace, to do both. The Lord has blessed me abundantly with this strong man. Part of what makes him strong is that he has no problem admitting that he is weak and that without God's strength he has nothing. We have great joy, that even on this earth, we do not serve man, but God. He is our maker, redeemer, friend, and KING of all that we do. He rules our lives, the earth, and everything in it. And so we can rejoice in hardships, taking comfort in the Word of God. "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpresible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith- the salvation of your souls." (1 Peter 1:6-9)
