How I focus on the things that are seen! Even in the midst of doing something for the unseen- traveling to Africa to take a son to tell the gospel, I was consumed with the seen. With the physical. With the things of this earth. With missing my children, who are His and were fine. With fear of chest pains and asthma attacks, all in His control. And now, here I sit in my comfortable house with proper plumbing and temperature control and I read about the things unseen and I am reminded again how small I am. How big my God is. How perfect and glorious is His unseen plan. I think of how much time we all spend on the SEEN- on caring about just the right sports, activities, classes for our children, what to eat, what to wear, all these TEMPORARY cares. Lord, give me eyes and heart to see the invisible. To care for souls being made ready for eternity.
"Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
