God Moves in a Mysterious Way

Seth died this morning. My heart aches for the Van Wienen family who lost a son, a brother. I hope and pray that God will comfort them with the peace that passes understanding; the peace that belongs to those who are Christ's. His mind, His design is perfect and wise and we can not begin to attempt the "why's" or "what if's," but must trust like a little child trusts his parents. Praise God that when we mourn it is not without hope! May God be glorified in the lives of His people who have been touched by this loss.

"God Moves in a Mysterious Way"
a hymn by William Cowper
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
and rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
of never failing skill,
He treasures up His bright designs
and works His soverign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
the clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
in blessings on your head.
His purposes will ripen fast
unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
but sweet will be the flower.
Blind unbelief is sure to err
and scan His work in vain;
God is His own Interpreter
and He will make it plain.

Oh, I am so sorry. My prayers are with the Van Wienen family. How sad. I am so thankful that they are believers, with hope. Still, I am so sorry for their undeniable pain.

what a cruel and broken world we live in! how this family must long for eternity... i too ache for them and pray and cry bitter tears, not knowing them, but feeling a kindred spirit among them. may they only be able to praise the Lord and rest in His arms who cares for them infintely more than we can imagine. 2 corinthians 1 is one of my favorite passages about the comfort of God and I would read that over and over in very difficult times. praising God silently, remebering the old hyms, sometimes gets us through a minute at a time.
