Mother's Day

Yesterday was a lovely day. It was first of all lovely because I actually heard my alarm go off and got out of bed feeling well rested. That's always a nice way to start the day. Then it was lovely because my children gave me some very sweet cards and pictures. Peter really surprised me with his little note which included, "I love you more than you know! I love you as much (and more than) you love purple! You're a great mama and I wouldn't have it any other way!" Melt my heart, boy! Then it was lovely because my husband gave me a very sweet card and this Heart for Africa necklace.

Off to church we went and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated hearing a whole sermon and being able to take notes while my dear husband wrestled with our still being trained to sit still and not make noise 20 month old.
After church we had Pete's family over (most, but not quite all of them) for lunch in which I ate too much food because bruschetta is just too good and because I made two desserts and had some of each. It was Mother's Day, after all!
I am so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to be a mother to FIVE healthy, precious children. He has given me my heart's desire and I trust that He will be faithful and complete the work in these children that He is using me as their mother to begin.
