Caught off guard

Have you ever gotten a phone call that just took your breath away, left you speechless and stunned? Yesterday that was me.

We figured it would be 4-8 months before we'd hear anything more about our adoption.

When the phone rang at 4pm yesterday I almost didn't answer it because I didn't recogize the number on the caller id. I'm glad I did answer it because it was our social worker telling us she had a referral for us!!!!

18 days- that's how long our papers have been in Ethiopia. And yet here we are, already announcing to all of you that we have received and accepted a referral for a 4 year old boy. We are just overflowing with joy and thanks to the Lord. We kept our age range quite open and had no concern over whether we would receive a boy or a girl, trusting that the Lord would give us exactly what our family needs. And now we are ECSTATIC that we will have another son- and that Peter will have a brother!! Now we have to wait for a court date and when that is final I can share with you a picture of his precious little face!

Thank you for your prayers and for sharing our joy!

Wow -- after hearing and experiencing so many LONG delayed adoption situations recently, I am amazed and rejoicing at your good news!!! Good for you for keeping your options wide open in terms of age and gender -- will be praying for the upcoming transition for the whole family!!
